Return Policy

We offer an Exchange Only* Return Policy on unworn, unwashed, and sealed merchandise with the exception of lipsticks, lip glosses, and essential oils which are final sale and cannot be exchanged. If you find it necessary to exchange any part of your order, please return the item(s), within 30 days of delivery, with the supplied address label from your package, or ship to the address on our Contact Page with your name, email address and order number. Please note, you will be responsible for all postage. Once your merchandise has been returned, we will issue a store credit for the total value of your exchange, via email within 24-48 hours. Please contact customer service with any questions or concerns.
*No order modifications, cancellations, exchanges or returns on sale items, seasonal holiday items, or items marked final sale.

Preorders

Pre-orders will not ship until the date specified in the product description and are often subject to change for reasons beyond our control. Additional products purchased with a pre-order will not ship until the date specified in the description of the pre-ordered item. Multiple pre-orders purchased together will not ship until the latest pre-order date.

Back-Orders

Every effort is made to ship customer orders complete. Complete orders will be shipped at once. Incomplete orders will be held for a short time so that we can ship all items at one time. You will be notified immediately if we anticipate the item(s) to be on back order for an extended period of time.

Promotions

Promotional items and giveaways are NOT guaranteed and will only be available while supplies last.

Discount Codes

All codes must be entered during checkout and cannot be applied to previously placed, or existing orders.

Shipping

Domestic Orders

Domestic orders take 1-2 business days to process, plus transit time; UPS 3 Day Select (1-3 Business Days), UPS Ground (1-5 Business Days), UPS Mail Innovations (1-5 Business Days), USPS Media Mail (1-10 Business Days).

If you have entered incorrect shipping information and fail to notify us before your order ships, you will be contacted when/if the carrier returns the package to our warehouse. If you do not respond within 2 weeks, we will return the item(s) into our inventory and refund the full amount of the order, less the shipping, and credit card transaction fees. If your package is re-shipped, you will be responsible for any additional shipping charges.

International Orders

International orders take 1-2 business days to process, plus transit time; UPS Mail Innovations (In some small countries, there will be no tracking beyond departure, 1-4 Weeks on average), USPS Priority Mail International (Worldwide tracking, 1-4 Weeks on average).*All international customers are subject to the customs laws, duties and taxes of the destination country.* If your package is returned to us for any reason, we will notify you by email. If you do not respond within 2 weeks, we will return the item(s) into our stock and refund you the amount of the order, less the shipping, and credit card transaction fees.

International shipping of subscription boxes are limited to a select number of countries including Canada and most of Europe.

Beauty Box

What's in the box and why do you call it non-toxic?

Our box is unique for two reasons. First, we score every product’s ingredients through the Environmental Working Group database. If it doesn’t meet our guidelines, we don’t put it in the box. For example, anything with artificial fragrance is disqualified from the box because it’s an ingredient that can contain undisclosed ingredients within it. We don’t just put products in our box that claim they’re “all-natural” or good for you, we really assess the ingredients to make sure they meet the standards we’ve set. The beauty box will never include ingredients like artificial fragrance, sodium laurel sulfate, parabens, phthalates, or any known carcinogens (like formaldehyde, mineral oils, ethylene oxide, and crystalline silica).

Second, our products must be high-performance! Just because they’re non-toxic doesn’t mean they can’t be incredible, and that’s why this box is so highly curated. For those that are new to clean beauty, we want to show you what’s out there and what we love. For those of you that are already into non-toxic wellness and cosmetics, our goal is to introduce you to our very favorite products.

Each box includes 5-7 items.

Billing

Your card will be charged when you sign up. Your sign up date will also be your billing date every month.

If you sign up on a day that’s exclusive to certain months (29, 30, 31), your payment will automatically default to the last day of a month without that date. For example, if you signed up on January 31st, in February, you’ll be charged on the 28th since it’s the last day of that month.

If you need to change your payment method, no worries — you can do so by logging into your account. For detailed instructions on how to do this, click here!

Shipping

Your box will ship around the 15th of every month.

At this time, we can only offer shipping to certain countries outside of the United States, including but not limited to Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

If your box is lost or any product inside is damaged, please contact us for help. Please allow an appropriate amount of shipping time before assuming your box is lost. But if it does happen, we’re here for you! If you haven’t claimed a lost or damaged box 45 days after the box’s shipping date, we cannot guarantee a replacement of that exact box.

 

Cancellations

If you feel that you need to cancel (we’ll miss you!), reach out to our customer service team by emailing us.

Cancellation must be initiated before your billing date to avoid being charged for the next month’s box. If you’ve signed up for one of our 6 or 12 month subscriptions, you’ll be charged a cancellation fee equalling two months of your monthly subscription cost so be sure you want to subscribe before signing up. If you are not sure whether the box is the right fit for you, we have month to month option that can be cancelled at any time.

Automatic Renewal

Your box will automatically renew after your subscription period ends; we do this because we want to avoid disruption of your Beauty Box shipping to you, and because our boxes usually sell out (we don’t want your subscription to be scooped up by someone else!). If you don’t want to continue after you subscription period ends, it’s super easy to cancel.

Simply let us know anytime during your last subscription month (before the first of your new renewal month), and we’ll cancel your subscription.

Can I use a coupon code or gift card for my box?

Coupon codes cannot be applied toward subscriptions.

Gift cards cannot be used as payment for your box. Our system only permits cards that can be billed cyclically to be used for subscriptions. Thanks for understanding!

Can I exchange or return my box?

Beauty Boxes are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.

If you don’t love a certain product in your box, we encourage you to share it with a friend or family member or donate it to someone in need. Subscription boxes are to sample products you may not typically purchase yourself, so it’s totally normal that you may not be in love with every single product in every box. 🙂 Sharing is caring!

Billing

Did the pricing change for Happy Mail since it launched again in February?

No. Absolutely none of the pricing has changed for Happy Mail — everyone is being charged exactly the same amount as before — the only thing that is changing is that the cost of the kit and the cost of shipping are now combined into one cost, so there are no ‘surprises’ at checkout for our returning US customers that weren’t used to paying for shipping before we came back from our hiatus — they see the amount they’ll be paying before checking out.

International customers will be charged an additional $5 to cover the cost of international shipping — this is still the same cost as before.

Shipping

Your Happy Mail kit will ship on or around the last day of each month.

If your kit is lost or any product inside is damaged, please contact us for help. Please allow an appropriate amount of shipping time before assuming your kit is lost. But if it does happen, we’re here for you! If you haven’t claimed a lost or damaged Happy Mail kit 45 days after the box’s shipping date, we cannot guarantee a replacement of that exact kit.

I was a Happy Mail subscriber before the relaunch — will I automatically be re-subscribed?

You will need to resubscribe! We are on a completely different payment platform and website, so your subscription did not carry over from the “old” Happy Mail.

Essential Oils

I'm new to essential oils, where do I start?

If you want to start simple, find a diffuser you like and add your favorite oil according to the instructions that come with the diffuser. We love the book Just the Essentials: How Essential Oils Can Heal Your Skin, Improve Your Health, and Detox Your Life by Adina Grigore (available on Amazon). It’s a fun read that dives into the history of essential oils, gives information on individual oils, and has accessible recipes for diffuser blends, skincare, cleaning supplies, and more.

Where do your oils come from?

We’ve sourced from a farm that is incredibly passionate and knowledgable about their craft, trustworthy, and exceedingly kind — which is a big deal in our book! Oils sourced internationally are meticulously sourced from reputable distilleries in small batches. The origin of and distillation method for each oil is listed on the product page.

What grade are your oils? Are they pure?

Our therapeutic grade oils are 100% pure essential oil with no fillers. They have also been tested for quality and safety and have Gas Chromatography – Mass Spectrometry reports as well as Material Safety Data Sheets – please reach out to us if you’d like to obtain a copy.

What are the recommended uses?

Some companies encourage ingestion of essential oils, but we only recommend ours for topical use (with proper dilution + use with carrier oils) and aromatherapy purposes, like diffusing.

Are oils safe for me to use?

We recommend that you consult with your doctor or physician before introducing anything new into your routine. Peppermint oil should not be used around children under the age of 6 and Eucalyptus oil should not be used around children under the age of 10. If you’re using oils topically, it’s critical to use a carrier oil to avoid skin irritation. Popular carrier oils include: coconut oil, grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, cocoa butter, and shea butter.

What about pets?

There is a lot of conflicting information about what oils are safe to use on pets, if any.

First, we never under any circumstance advise using essential oils topically on your pets. They are very strong and are not meant to be used this way on animals unless administered by a vet.

Our safety resource, The Tisserand Institute, does say it’s safe to diffuse oils around animals. The only oils we advise against using around both cats and dogs is tea tree. We also recommend avoiding peppermint and eucalyptus around cats, and using these with caution/very limited amounts around dogs.

Of course, this is a decision every pet owner must come to on their own, just like every pet safety decision. Every member of our team is a pet owner and we diffuse oils happily in our homes, but we make sure to do so in a well ventilated space where our furry friends can move to another room if they choose to.
